Wow what a week!
Over the moon with Mickie he did a lovely dressage test getting a score of 52, which is a huge improvement just needed to be a bit more supple through the half pass and walk pirouettes but was a ‘PB’ for him!
It was a very long wait till 2.50pm for x country, too much time to think about the course but when I got on him I needn’t of worried as once again Mickie stepped up to the challenges ahead, ears pricked all the way, he gave me a fab round! 🐎❤️😃. Next challenge the trot up in morning then showjumping to complete. 😊
Mickie jumped his super white socks off for a clear show jumping round, just an annoying 2 time faults to add to our dressage score finishing in 22nd place. Couldn’t have asked anymore of him for his first CCI 2*.
After showjumping we were randomly picked for a drugs test and he was the only horse all week that refused to pee on demand, so bloods taken instead!
Houghton Hall was an extremely well run event and a fab place to spend almost a week, although a little cold and a very dodgy internet connection, loved every minute of it. Thank you to owners Sarah Francis and Len for treating us to a couple of great meals out and to Louise Holden for taking care of Mickie and making him look so smart.
Next stop Barbury 2*!
